Education

Group of hands in circle

Our residency curriculum includes an anti-racism curriculum created by our chief residents and Adolescent Medicine faculty mentors.  We hold an annual communication course which trains our residents to interrupt and take an active stance in events of microaggression in the clinical setting.

We support our residents to stand against discrimination and aggression by asking for anonymous input after every rotation, "Have you experienced or witnessed any discrimination and/or aggressions that disrupt our environment of dignity and respect?"

Community Oriented Resident Education (CORE)

An advocacy coalition hub and “community of courage” open to all residents, fellows, and attendings at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh.

CHP VUE: Vital URiM Experience

Diversity Rounds

A community of practicing medical professionals that foster the development of medical professionals in the area of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
