Enhancing Resiliency

This study partners with YogaRoots on Location, an anti-racist and social justice Raja yoga organization, to provide healing-centered, anti-oppression focuses yoga instruction to build mindfulness and emotion-regulation skills among youth involved in the juvenile justice system. The study assesses youth outcomes related to mindfulness skills, emotion regulation skills, connectedness, and hope/future orientation.  Other goals of the project include training staff at juvenile justice centers and probation officers to use strengths-based strategies for working with youth and improve the care coordination in clinical, behavioral health, educational, and social services across transitions from incarceration to community diversion programs to reintegration into community.
