Education and Training

The Division of Allergy and Immunology, in partnership with UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, offers a two to three year ACGME accredited training program.

The program currently allows for two fellows per year: one from pediatrics and the other with a background in internal medicine. The main goal of the program is to provide a broad training experience that prepares physicians to enter academics as either clinician/educators or researchers.

The program is based at the only pediatric hospital in the region, and consequently trainees are exposed to a wide range of both allergic and immunologic disease states in children. The adult experience is obtained at the University Hospital which also provides a wide variety of clinical cases in adult patients. One of the strengths of the program is a broad clinical experience in pediatric and adult clinical care, inpatient and outpatient cases, and both allergic and immunologic disease states.
