Pediatric Emergency Medicine Ultrasound Fellowship
Thank you for your interest in the Pediatric Emergency Ultrasound Medicine Fellowship at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. The mission of our fellowship is to train a diverse group of physicians interested in pediatric emergency medicine and point-of-care ultrasound to become experts and leaders.
Fellows get 1-1 training with expert faculty on critical emergency ultrasound applications
The Pediatric Emergency Ultrasound Fellowship (PEM EUS) program at UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh is a one-year program designed to prepare the fellow to be an expert in the field of PEM Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS).
Pediatric POCUS has become an essential tool in the emergency setting, allowing for quick and accurate diagnoses, improved patient outcomes, and reduced radiation exposure. The fellowship program at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh is designed to provide comprehensive training in the use of POCUS for pediatric emergency medicine physicians.
Fellows will have the unique opportunity to train in a leading pediatric hospital and trauma center while collaborating with the UPMC Emergency Ultrasound Fellowship. This allows the pediatric EUS fellow to encounter a variety of pathologies and gain expertise in a wide range of POCUS applications. Fellows will also gain experience in ultrasound-guided procedures, such as peripheral IV placements, nerve blocks, and joint aspirations.
Pittsburgh is a vibrant city with a thriving arts and culture scene, world-class dining, and numerous outdoor recreational opportunities. Fellows will have the chance to explore all the city has to offer, while also benefiting from the academic and research resources of the nationally ranked Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh.
