Conferences
Annual Pitt Genetics Retreat
This is a once a year, full day conference open to all those involved in genetics at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital, and the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, Department of Human Genetics. This conference focuses on research-oriented and clinical-based talks from various attendees, as well as panel discussions and poster presentations. The goal of this retreat is to offer an opportunity for collaboration between all three of our institutional sites as well as familiarization with each other’s work in order to develop a closer working relationship.
General and Metabolic Case Conferences
Meetings held once per week, where providers and genetic counselors present informative, complex, or thought-provoking inpatient and outpatient cases to the division. These meetings allow for collaboration amongst genetics providers for both educational purposes and to improve patient care and management. Attendees include a range of individuals such as attending physicians, genetic counselors, residents and fellows, research staff, dietitians, registered nurses, laboratory staff and more.
