Eligibility Requirements
- Must hold an MD, DO, or MD/PhD degree
- Completion of an entire ACGME-accredited residency in another specialty
- Hold or be eligible for a medical license in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
- Must be US citizens, permanent resident, or an individual that has lawful status in the US that legally permits them to work and does not require employer sponsorship.
- Candidates with a medical degree earned outside of the US, Canada or Puerto Rico should have the ABMGG Credentials Committee review their credentials prior to applying.
How to Apply
- Completion of the ERAS common application form
- A personal statement
- Medical school transcripts
- A letter of recommendation from the Dean or appropriate officer of your medical school
- At least three letters of recommendation from physicians who are acquainted with your work or capabilities, including at least one letter from your Residency Program Director.
- An official copy of USMLE scores
We participate in the ERAS® Program as well as the NRMP Match. No additional information outside of ERAS® is required.
Each year, interviews are from August to early October. After reviewing all applications, we will invite candidates to interview at UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh.
