Research and Scholarly Activities

A variety of clinical, bench and translational research opportunities are available with a large variety of mentors both at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh and the University of Pittsburgh main campus. Fellows can also choose to earn a degree in clinical research from the Institute for Clinical Research Education.

While not required as part of the fellowship, many fellows have successfully applied for both intramural (e.g., T32) and extramural funding opportunities (e.g., Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society/St. Jude Fellowship Award, Association of Medical School Pediatric Department Chairs Award).
