Training Pathways

In the Pediatric Residency Program at UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, there are several different pathways available to meet our residents' interests and future goals. Residents may choose from the following:

Categorical Pediatrics

Categorical Pediatric - 3 year program
Pediatric Advocacy Leadership Service - 3 year program
Pediatric Scientist Development Program
  • Accelerated Research Pathway - 2 years of pediatric training + 4 years of fellowship training
  • Integrated Research Pathway - 3 years of pediatric training + 3 years of fellowship training

Combined Pediatrics

Medicine-Pediatrics - 4 year program
Triple Board - 5 year program
Pediatric Anesthesia - 5 year program
Child Neurology - 5 year program
Neurodevelopmental Disabilities - 6 year program
