Rannar Airik, Ph.D.
Assistant Professor of Pediatrics
Dr. Airik’s research focuses on deciphering the mechanisms of chronic kidney disease using mouse models of a genetic form of childhood chronic kidney disease, nephronophthisis (NPHP), an autosomal recessive chronic kidney disease characterized by tubulointerstitial fibrosis, tubular basement membrane disruption, and kidney cysts.
Merlin Airik Ph.D.
Dr. Airik is a postdoctoral fellow and has trained in the labs of Dr. Beth Lawlor at the University of Michigan, and Dr. Friedhelm Hildebrand, at Boston Children’s Hospital. Her main research interest is investigating the role of DNA damage response in regulating renal tubular regeneration after injury.
