The Urban lab studies the role of protein trafficking and signaling in epithelial cell in a disease specific context.
Current Lab Members
Agnieszka Swiatecka-Urban is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics and studies the regulation of cell-surface stability and intracellular trafficking of membrane proteins in epithelial cells.
Nilay Mitash, Ph.D. is a postdoctoral fellow who graduated from the University of Lucknow, India. Nilay has been studying the role of microRNAs in regulating channels and transporters in polarized human airway epithelial cells.
Daniel Soares Pereira da Cruz is a Ph.D. candidate from the University of Lisbon, Portugal enrolled in the BioSys-PhD Program in Biological Systems, Functional & Integrative Genomics. Daniel has been studying the role of lemur tyrosine kinase (LMTK2) in signaling of the cytokine Transforming Growth Factor beta in human epithelial cells.
