Participants in this study were between the ages of 10 and 19 and completed the research period over 24 months.

Paul Dudley White was one of the founders of the American Heart Association (AHA) and a pioneer in heart health and preventative cardiology. This award in his honor has promoted his vision for excellence in cardiovascular and brain health science since 2017. Yearly awards are presented to teams of authors with the highest-ranked scientific abstract from each participating country for each AHA scientific meeting.
