Bailey Receives NIH K08 Career Development Award, Will Expand Ewing Sarcoma Research

Kelly M. Bailey, MD, PhDPitt Pediatrics congratulates Kelly M. Bailey, MD, PhD, assistant professor in the Division of Hematology-Oncology, on her receipt of a National Cancer Institute K08 Career Development award titled DNA Damage and Immunogenicity in Ewing Sarcoma.

This award will assist Bailey in further development of critical research on Ewing sarcoma, a rare childhood cancer, and new treatment approaches. Her work will primarily focus on DNA damage repair and tumor immune response, specifically examining the ability of DNA damage to activate Ewing tumor cell immunoregulatory pathways.

Bailey is supported by co-mentors Linda M. McAllister-Lucas, MD, PhD, professor and director of the Division of Hematology-Oncology, and Dario A. Vignali, PhD, professor and vice chair of Pitt's Department of Immunology.
