Berger Receives Award to Improve Electronic Health Record Child Abuse Clinical Decision Support

Rachel P. Berger, MD, MPHPitt Pediatrics congratulates professor Rachel P. Berger, MD, MPH, director of the Division of Child Advocacy, on her receipt of a Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) grant to address clinical decision support system engagement.

This grant will allow Berger and her research team to work with a behavioral economist in an effort to improve end-user child abuse clinical systems across the country.  In partnership with chief medical information officers at other hospitals, Berger aims to improve consistency of data retrieval for development of standardized child abuse quality metrics.

The PCORI grant will cover Berger's research for two years starting December 1, 2021.
