Guyon-Harris Receives NIH Career Development Award, Will Develop Intervention Program for Pregnant Women with Opioid-Use Disorder

Katherine Leigh Guyon-Harris, PhDPitt Pediatrics congratulates Katherine Leigh Guyon-Harris, PhD, assistant professor in the Division of General Academic Pediatrics, on her receipt of a National Institutes of Health (NIH) K23 Career Development Award.

This award will support adaptations of an evidence-based parenting intervention called "Family Check-Up" to improve parent-child outcomes among pregnant women with opioid-use disorder.  Guyon-Harris will use qualitative and quantitative research methods to adapt the intervention program for delivery during pregnancy within a prenatal primary care setting.

Guyon-Harris will be supported by co-primary mentors Daniel S. Shaw, PhD, distinguished professor of psychology, and Elizabeth E. Krans, MD, MSc, assistant professor of obstetrics, gynecology, and reproductive sciences.  She is also mentored by associate professor Judy Chang, MD, MPH.
