Pitt Pediatrics congratulates Timothy W. Hand, PhD, assistant professor of pediatrics and immunology, on his selection as a 2021 Emerging Leader by the Society for Mucosal Immunology.
Formed in 1987, over 900 scientists participate in society activities to advance research and education in the field of mucosal immunology. The society publishes a high-impact journal and coordinates various training opportunities.
In addition to his role with Pitt Pediatrics, Hand is director of the Gnotobiotic Animal Core Laboratory and member of the Richard King Mellon Foundation Institute for Pediatric Research.
