Lambore to Serve as Associate Medical Director of UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh Complex Care Center

Sanjay Lambore, MDPITTSBURGH (June 24, 2021) - Pitt Pediatrics congratulates associate professor Sanjay Lambore on his new appointment as associate medical director of the Complex Care Center at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh starting in July 2021.

Lambore joined Pitt Pediatrics in 2003 and is a member of the Division of General Academic Pediatrics. He has served as the Medical Director of the Children’s Primary Care Center at Turtle Creek, where he has taught countless numbers of medical students and residents evidence-based medicine, wellness, and preventive medicine, and how to practice multi-cultural medicine. When engaging with trainees, he consistently emphasizes the importance of cost-effective medicine using clinical and diagnostic skills. In addition to his academic pursuits, Lambore has served as an attending physician at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, UPMC Mercy, and UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital.

Lambore has received many clinical and academic awards including the University of Pittsburgh Clerkship Preceptor of the Year Award (5 times), the William I. Cohen teaching award from our pediatric residents, a recent special honor and recognition award by the residents for excellent patient care and teaching, and a UPMC Award for Commitment and Excellence in Service (ACES). He has been inducted into a variety of academic societies and fellowships such as the Pitt School of Medicine's Academy of Master Educators and the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.

Lambore will shift his focus from primary care to caring for children with medical complexity when he joins the dedicated team of providers at the UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh Complex Care Center, which is led by Michael J. Decker, MD, FAAP. He will contribute in a profoundly unique way that will benefit children and their families. Lambore exemplifies the vision of the Department of Pediatrics and that of UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh through his unwavering drive to commit himself to excellence in patient care and clinical education.
