March Selected for Pitt Clinical and Translational Science Scholar Program

Christine A. March, MD, MSPitt Pediatrics congratulates Christine A. March, MD, MS of the Division of Endocrinology on her acceptance to Pitt's Clinical and Translational Science Scholar Program (KL2).

The highly competitive KL2 program is for junior faculty at the University of Pittsburgh and offers 75 percent salary support for up to five years.  The program provides protected time for faculty to conduct preliminary research for a career development award. Scholars are expected to apply for a K award or another career development award in the first year of the program.

March engages in health services research focusing on the care and outcomes of children and adolescents with type 1 diabetes. Her academic interests include community-engaged research, school-based diabetes care, and the impact of over-nutrition in type 1 diabetes. Her primary work focuses on optimizing school-based management of type 1 diabetes in the context of emerging diabetes technologies, including insulin pumps, continuous glucose monitors, and sensor-augmented insulin pumps.
