Miller to Serve on CDC Board of Scientific Counselors, National Center for Injury Prevention and Control

Elizabeth Miller, MD, PhD, FSAHMPitt Pediatrics congratulates professor Elizabeth Miller, MD, PhD, FSAHM, director of the Division of Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine, on her appointment to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention's Board of Scientific Counselors, under the purview of the National Center for Injury Prevention and Control (NCIPC).

One of the CDC's federal advisory committees, the board advises the CDC director, secretary of Health and Human Services, and the NCIPC director on policies, strategies, and priorities surrounding injury and violence prevention.  Board members provide updates on surveillance, epidemiological and intervention research, plus evidence-based mitigation strategies.

Miller will begin her service immediately under a term ending August 31, 2024.
