Pitt Pediatrics congratulates assistant professor Sylvia Owusu-Ansah, MD, MPH, FAAP, of the Division of Emergency Medicine on her recent appointment to serve as a representative of the American Academy of Pediatrics on the American Heart Association's COVID task force.
Owusu-Ansah will represent AAP in monthly meetings to discuss data, conduct literature reviews, and determine updates to COVID-related mitigation guidance. She will serve alongside Susan M. Fuchs, MD, professor of pediatrics at Northwestern University School of Medicine.
At Pitt Pediatrics, Owusu-Ansah serves as associate vice chair of diversity, equity, and inclusion. She is also EMS medical director at UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh.
