Qin Wins First Place Poster At UPMC Hillman Cancer Center Retreat

Pitt Pediatrics congratulates Mengtao Qin for her first-place poster award for Translational Science from the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center 2023 Annual Scientific Retreat. Her project, alongside the Byersdorfer Lab, was titled “AMPKγ2 Overexpression Protects CD19-CAR T Cells From Metabolic Insults”.

The UPMC Hillman Cancer Center retreat was held at the end of September this year. There were over 100 posters submitted to the retreat with a strong Immunology representation. Qin, a Tsinghua Scholar, has been with the Byersdorfer lab for only a year, but has managed to secure a first-place poster award.

“We are proud of her success and happy to see her hard work and dedication be recognized in this meaningful way,” said Craig Byersdorfer, MD, PhD, Principal Investigator of the Byersdorfer Lab.
