Shah, Cummings to Lead Pediatric Advanced Physical Exam Course

Neema M. Shah, MDPitt Pediatrics congratulates assistant professors Neema M. Shah, MD, and Erin Elizabeth Cummings, MD, on their appointments as director and co-director, respectively, of the Advanced Physical Exam (APE) course in the Department of Pediatrics.

The Pediatric APE director and co-director lead the Pediatric Advanced Physical Exam course, which shepherds pre-clinical medical students through their first experience in pediatric medicine.  

Erin Elizabeth Cummings, MD

Responsibilities include organization of faculty members to teach physical exam skills to MS-1s and MS-2s at the bedside, leading monthly didactic sessions in preparation of bedside teaching sessions, and adjusting curricular interventions for University of Pittsburgh medical students.

Shah and Cummings are active clinicians and educators in the Paul C. Gaffney Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine.
