Pitt Pediatrics congratulates professor Srinivasan Suresh, MD, MBA, FAAP, director of the Division of Health Informatics, on his appointment as chair of the Council on Clinical Information Technology (COCIT) within the American Academy of Pediatrics.
One of fifteen councils focusing on various areas of interest in pediatric health care, COCIT aims to advance use and growth of information science and technology. Launched in 2002, the council is comprised of 400 pediatricians across the world.
Previously an executive committee member, Dr. Suresh will serve as chair of COCIT for a two year term ending June 2023.
In addition to his work at Pitt Pediatrics, Dr. Suresh is Vice President, Chief Information Officer, and Chief Medical Information Officer at UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh.
