Welcome To Our Newest Residents

Pitt Pediatrics welcomes our newest residents joining our Department and UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh in July. The residency program at the Department of Pediatrics and UPMC Children’s has a long and rich history, and provides a world-class education and training experience for medical students, residents, and fellows.

Recently ranked as the eighth best children’s hospital in the country by the US News and World Report rankings, our institution is an internationally recognized leader in pediatric care, translational research, and basic science. Residents within the Department of Pediatrics receive special, highly-individualized attention from our exceptional faculty and clinical experience featuring a remarkable volume and variety of pediatric diagnoses. As UPMC Children’s is the only pediatric hospital in the greater Western Pennsylvania region, residents here are given the opportunity to train and serve on an extraordinary breadth of pediatric medical problems.

There are eight distinct residency programs in our Department, each focusing on a unique set of training and education within pediatrics. Sometimes combining multiple disciplines over the course of 3 to 6 years, these residencies challenge and cultivate the next generation of pediatricians, researchers, and scientists.

Our new chief residents will be Martha Stewart, Aditi Jain, Krishna Trivedi, and Yonairy Collado.
