Education and Conferences

Our didactics curriculum consists of core concepts which are presented both longitudinally and in block periods. Longitudinal themes include neuroanatomy, clinical case-based learning, EMG, research, and board review. Clinical blocks address focused neurological topics (e.g. stroke, white matter disease, neonatal neurology, headache, etc.) and are presented through lectures, clinical simulation vignettes, and hands-on experiences during the academic year.

In addition, we have multiple weekly standing topic-driven and multidisciplinary conferences, including Clinical Case Conference, EEG and Epilepsy Surgical Case Conference, Movement Disorder Conference, Neuroimmunology Conference, and Neuroradiology Conference (“Tea Rounds.”).

Our Residents spend the first 3 weeks of PGY-3 year in a “Neurology Boot Camp” series in collaboration with the adult neurology program and a week long Child Neurology Boot Camp during the first week of the PGY-4 year to provide targeted learning related to acute neurologic concerns and interpretation of EEG and neuroimaging.
