SOVA works with learners at all levels!

High school students: SOVA for the past 3 years has been collaborating with the workforce development Partner4work Learn and Earn program to host summer interns for research experiences. Also, youth interested in research taking place in the Division of Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine can apply to be part of our Youth Research Advisory Board by emailing their interest to cayah@pitt.edu. See more on UPMC Children's Hospital website

Undergradate Students: Undergraduates at the University of Pittsburgh enrolled in psychology can apply for a research practicum with us. We also have an ongoing PITT student job offering for a student familiar with computer science and web-development to assist us with maintenance of the SOVA websites. Undergraduates from any institution can apply for a summer internship with UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh and work with our lab for 8 weeks over the summer.

Graduate Students: The SOVA Lab offers field placement opportunities for first and second years enrolled in the Masters of Social Work program at PITT. We work with PITT medical students at all levels – for the summer after first year, to students considering taking time off for a research year or wanting to apply for the MSTP program, or to have Dr. Radovic mentor them for their LRP. We also work with doctoral students at the PITT School of Computing and Information.

Post-graduate Students: The SOVA Lab welcomes post-doctoral scholars, pediatric or psychiatric residents and fellows interested in our work. Contact Dr. Radovic if you are interested in advanced mentorship.

Collaborators: Do you think any of the SOVA Lab interventions could be utilized in your setting? We love working with others who are seek to improve adolescents’ ability to benefit from mental health services and prevent undesired outcomes that reduce their quality of life. Please reach out if interested!

Community Partners: We love connecting with advocates for youth mental health from individuals in the community who are advocating for their loved one, to non-profit organizations with a mission to improve mental health. Our partners have collaborated with us on informing the development of the SOVA intervention and writing up our results! We would love to hear from you if you are interested in connecting.
