Vildan Tas is an assistant professor of pediatrics at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in the Division of General Academic Pediatrics. She completed medical school at Hacettepe University in Turkey. She completed a residency at the University of Illinois Children's Hospital in Chicago, receiving the Excellence in Student Teaching Award. Before joining Pitt Pediatrics, Tas was an associate professor at the University of Arkansas for Medical Science and served as the Medical Director of the Circle of Friends Teaching Clinic of Arkansas Children's Hospital, where she received several education awards presented by medical students, residents, and the Department of Pediatrics.

Tas is specifically interested in preventing obesity and improving children's physical and mental health outcomes in low-resource environments by developing healthy habits through parent education and addressing the barriers to a healthy lifestyle. She is a passionate clinical educator who is actively involved in medical student and resident education at the UPMC Children's Hospital's Primary Care Center. She is the Director of the Pediatric Clerkship Outpatient Experience. She also works at the UPMC Magee Women's Hospital's newborn nursery.
