Adam Christopher, MD is an assistant professor of pediatrics at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in the Division of Cardiology. He is the director of cardiac MRI and CT at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. Dr. Christopher received his Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University and his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He completed a pediatrics residency at Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital and pediatric cardiology fellowship at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. He completed an additional fellowship in advanced cardiac imaging at Children’s National Hospital in Washington, DC prior to returning to Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh as faculty.

Dr. Christopher has broad interests in improving the safety and quality of non-invasive cardiac imaging. His research includes implementation of novel contrast agents and 4D flow technology to better visualize and assess flow patterns in complex congenital heart disease. Dr. Christopher also has research interests in myocardial mapping, a contrast-free assessment of heart muscle to evaluate for inflammation and scar.
