Amber M. Hoffman, MD, FAAP

Amber M Hoffman, MD, FAAP is a Professor of Pediatrics at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. She is a member of the Paul C. Gaffney Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine.

Dr. Hoffman earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Duquesne University and completed medical school at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. She completed residency at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh and was later grandfathered into a fellowship of Pediatric Hospital Medicine. Dr. Hoffman returned in 2023 to Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh after leaving in 2008 to pursue positions at Children’s Mercy Hospital-Kansas City and Nemours Children's Hospital-Florida. 

Dr. Amber Hoffman is a pediatric hospitalist with a special interest in children with medical complexity and pediatric education. She served as an Associate Program Director at both Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh and Children’s Mercy Hospital-Kansas City. She founded the pediatric residency program at Nemours Children's Hospital-Florida where she served as Program Director prior to her return to Pittsburgh. She additionally founded and directed two consultative medical homes for children with medical complexity, The Beacon Program in Kansas City and the Medically Complex Coordination Clinic in Orlando.
