Danica Sutherland, Ph.D.

  • Research Instructor

Danica learned from an early age, "if you want to tell a story, start from the beginning". Her research interests follow suite and focus on the initial step of the viral replication cycle. She is particularly interested in how virus:receptor interactions dictate species and tissue tropism in the brain. Her research spans from collaborative structural studies to receptor characterization in cultured primary and transformed cells to studying how receptor use influences pathogenesis in a mouse model.
