Francis Michael McCaffrey, MD
- Clinical Instructor
McCaffrey is a senior member in the Division of Pediatric Cardiology at UPMC Children’s Hospital. He is a native of southwestern Pennsylvania and is a graduate of Bishop Canevin HS, W&J College, and the Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine. He did his pediatric residency at the University of Nebraska. His Pediatric cardiology training was at the Medical College of Georgia and the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. McCaffrey is a veteran with 9 years active duty in the US Navy caring for pediatric patients. His clinical experience includes service at Naval Hospitals in Okinawa, Japan, Jacksonville, Florida, and Portsmouth, VA. Following discharge from the navy he served as a staff pediatric cardiologist at the University of Kentucky, A.I. DuPont Hospital for Children, and UPMC Children’s Hospital. His clinical interests are general pediatric cardiology, exercise physiology, and echocardiography.
