Geizecler Tomazetto, PhD
- Senior Researcher
My research has been conducted in both wet and dry labs, utilizing traditional microbiological methods, multi-omics approaches, bioinformatic analysis, and enzymology to uncover and characterize microorganisms, microbiomes, enzymes, and metabolic pathways. More recently, I have undertaken a new challenge: investigating how animals adapt to imposed diets at the holo-omics level, with the aim of comprehensively exploring their holistic microbial community dynamics. I have extensive expertise with various sequencing platforms, including Sanger, Illumina, Oxford Nanopore, and PacBio technology, for sequencing 16S amplicon libraries, bacterial and fungal genomes, and metagenomes. Additionally, I also have a strong background in bioinformatic processing and data visualization, writing scripts in Python, Snakemake, and R packages. My CV also includes vast international experience, involving project execution, supervising students and staff, and establishing collaboration across Europe and Brazil.
