Hey Jin Chong, MD, PhD
- Division Director, Allergy and Immunology and Associate Professor of Pediatrics
Administrative Assistant: Joann Broadus
Hey Chong is an associate professor of pediatrics at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and is board certified in Allergy and Immunology, practicing at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. She joined the Division of Allergy and Immunology in 2011, following completion of her residency at University of Chicago Comer Children’s Hospital and her fellowship in Allergy and Immunology at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. Shortly after joining the Division of Allergy and Immunology, Chong started the Primary Immunodeficiency Clinic in 2013. After serving as Clinical Director for the division since 2017, she became Division Director of Allergy and Immunology in the Spring of 2018.
Chong’s academic interests lie in the care of patients with inborn errors of immunity and creating a multidisciplinary approach to the management and treatment of patients with both primary and secondary causes of immune deficiency. This mission is the key focus of the Immune Dysregulation Diagnosis and Treatment Program (IDDAT) which she directs along with faculty across several divisions including bone marrow transplant, gastroenterology, rheumatology and infectious disease.
