James Felker, MD
- Assistant Professor of Pediatrics
Felker, is a pediatric hematologist/oncologist and is certified in pediatrics and pediatric hematology/oncology by the American Board of Pediatrics. He is assistant professor of medicine at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Felker received his medical degree from New York Medical College and completed his residency at Northwestern University/Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago followed by a fellowship in pediatric hematology/oncology and neuro-oncology at Emory University/Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Ga. Felker’s clinical interests include pediatric brain and spinal tumors and clinical trial development. He has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals and is a member of the American Society of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology, American Society of Clinical Oncology, Society for Neuro-Oncology, Children’s Oncology Group, and the Pediatric Brain Tumor Consortium. His wife is a pediatric cardiologist at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh and has an interest in long term cardiac outcomes for oncology patients. Together they have two girls and a beagle mutt. Dr Felker enjoys running along the rivers in Pittsburgh while trying to avoid the hills.
