Kavitha A. Conti, MD

Kavitha A. Conti completed her undergraduate studies at Canisius College, in Buffalo NY, graduating with degrees in Biology and English. She obtained her medical doctorate at Georgetown University School of Medicine. She completed residency in Pediatrics at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children in Philadelphia. She then completed a fellowship in Pediatric Emergency Medicine at UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh in 2010 and has since remained as an attending physician at Children's Hospital.
Conti's initial scholarly pursuits had a focus on medical education, curriculum development, and simulation technology. She served for 8 years as the Clerkship Director at the School of Medicine for the Pediatric Emergency Medicine portion of the Specialty Care Clerkship and the Director of medical student education within the Division of Emergency Medicine. She is an active educator of students, residents and fellows. Over the past several years, Conti has held several leadership positions in the Division of Emergency Medicine. Since January 2019, Conti has been the Medical Director of the Children's emergency department. Her specific interests are medical education, pediatric trauma management, injury prevention, patient safety, ED throughput, and efficiency.
