Mark E. Dovey, MD
- Associate Professor of Pediatrics
Throughout his career, Dr. Mark Dovey has demonstrated excellence in clinical care and leadership at nationally distinguished tertiary medical centers. At each of these institutions, his skill at designing and leading multi-disciplinary programs has transformed the care of children with complex conditions and grown the capacity of the institution to care for patients with compassion and efficiency.
As a pediatric pulmonologist, he is renowned as a clinician by his peers, and his patients highly value his care. Since his arrival at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh and University of Pittsburgh's School of Medicine, Dovey has assumed the leadership roles of Clinical Director of Pulmonology, Associate Director of the Cystic Fibrosis Center, and Co-Director of the Pulmonary Advanced Practice Provider Fellowship. He has continued his involvement in clinical research as site investigator on multi-center clinical trials for novel CF therapeutic agents for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Therapeutic Development Network.
Dovey was named a Top Doctor in Pediatric Pulmonology by Philadelphia Magazine from 2008 to 2014, by Boston Magazine from 2015 to 2016, and by Pittsburgh Magazine from 2018 to 2020. He has been ranked by US News & World Report in the top 1% in the nation for pediatric pulmonology continuously from 2013 to 2020.
