Nabiha Shahid, MD

  • Pediatric Endocrinology Fellow and Postdoctoral Scholar

Nabiha Shahid is originally from Lahore, Pakistan and moved to US for her pediatric residency that she completed from New York before she moved to Pittsburgh for her pediatric endocrinology fellowship. Her long-term career goal is to become a clinician educator with particular interest in youth type 2 diabetes and PCOS. She is currently working with Silva Arslanian, MD at the Center for Pediatric Research in Obesity and Metabolism (CPROM) and her research interest involves comprehensive care and management of obesity and related comorbidities prevalent in youth. Her primary research project focuses on non-alcoholic fatty liver disease in adolescents with obesity and PCOS. She loves to travel around the globe and explore. Urdu is her native language but she can understand and converse fairly well in Punjabi and Hindi as well. Her hobbies include cooking traditional cuisine, baking, sightseeing and sometimes just relaxing with a cup of tea.
