Nicholas Benjamin, MD

  • Child Neurology Fellow, PGY-2

Nick is currently a PGY-2 in the Child Neurology Fellowship at UPMC. He was born and raised in Pittsburgh, and he attended the Robert Morris University BS/MD program for his undergraduate degree. After college, he attended the Drexel University College of Medicine for his medical degree, with his last few years of medical school being in the Allegheny Health Network back in Pittsburgh. Growing up in Pittsburgh, Nick always knew that he wanted to train in Pittsburgh, and matched into the combined Child Neurology program at UPMC.

Regarding academic areas of interest, he is currently looking into neuro-immunology research, but is still undecided on what specific areas of Child Neurology he would like to pursue. He has been published regarding his work with Spina Bifida and Angelman Syndrome in the past, and is now looking into research involving peri-optic neuritis in the pediatric population.

Growing up in Pittsburgh, I always knew that I wanted to train here! When doing my away rotation at CHP, everyone I met was so nice and energetic. I absolutely love this city and how everyone who lives here values the work done at CHP!

I really enjoy playing ice hockey.
