The Vira I. Heinz Chair and Affiliates Symposium begins Friday, August 5, 2022, at the John G. Rangos Sr., Research Building Conference Suite* and concludes Saturday, August 6, 2022, with a luncheon at PNC Park in Pittsburgh, PA.
On Friday, expect a warm welcome reception and opening remarks from our host, Dr. Terence Dermody. Introductions will be followed by short, microbiology-focused talks from invited speakers, a poster session, and dinner. On Saturday, talks from selected abstracts will highlight diverse careers and studies in science, government, and industry. The symposium will be capped on Saturday with a luncheon and award ceremony at the beautiful PNC Park with stunning views of the Pittsburgh skyline.
