Gaesser is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Neurology and Child Development Unit at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. After completing her medical school in SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY, she completed her pediatric residency and fellowship in Child Neurology/Neurodevelopment Disabilities at UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh and stayed on as faculty. As a clinical specialist in Pediatric Neurology/Neurodevelopmental Disabilities, Gaesser provides care for inpatients and outpatients with a wide variety of neurological issues. Her areas of interest include neonatal neurology, neurodevelopmental disorder, and neurofibromatosis. She also has an active role in Medical Student and Child Neurology Fellow teaching in the Department of Pediatrics. Gaesser's certifications are in Pediatrics, Neurology with Special Qualifications in Child Neurology, and Neurodevelopmental Disabilities. Her recognitions include UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh Fellow of the Year, 2018 UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh Chair Distinction Award for Top Teacher, and UPMC 2019 Excellence in Patient Experience Award.
