Eleanor Sharp, MD, MS is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics in the Paul C. Gaffney Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine and the Associate Program Director for the Pediatric Hospital Medicine Fellowship at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. She graduated from fellowship in Pediatric Hospital Medicine at UPMC and completed her Master of Science in Medical Education from the University of Pittsburgh Institute for Clinical Research Education. She serves as one of the PHM Conference Social Media Co-Chairs and is on the AAP SOHM Executive Committee as the Liaison to the Section on Pediatric Trainees.

Sharp's current areas of research include improving transitions of care for critically ill children, characterizing readmissions to the pediatric intensive care unit, improving resident and fellow autonomy in the inpatient setting, and describing resident and fellow experiences with pregnancy, childcare, and parenting during medical training. She is passionate about gender equity in academic medicine and using medical education scholarship to empower clinician-educators.
