Matthew E. Valente, MD

Dr. Valente, is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Pittsburgh and shares clinical time between The Paul C. Gaffney Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine and Division of Child Advocacy. He attended medical school at the SUNY Upstate Medical University College of Medicine and completed pediatric residency at the UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, where he also served as a Pediatric Chief Resident. He is Associate Program Director for the Pediatric Residency Training Program at UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh. His main interest is in the intersection between care of hospitalized children and maltreatment with emphasis on children with complex health care needs
