Community and Culture
We know that it is not enough to simply bring trainees and faculty to our hospital - we want to have a culture of welcome and engagement. Toward this end we work within our hospital to listen, learn and embrace those of all backgrounds. We are part of the larger community of UPMC and also reach out to collaborate with our colleagues from all across western Pennsylvania and now extending to Harrisburg.

CHAMP: Career Help, Advancement, & Achievement Mentorship Program
CHAMP is a bridge providing tangible mentorship between Arsenal Middle School Students, University of Pittsburgh Medical Students, and our UPMC/Pitt faculty.
Salud Para Niños
The first pediatric bilingual-bicultural clinic in southwestern Pennsylvania operated in partnership with Pitt Pediatrics faculty and Children's Hospital.
Pittsburgh Community Vaccine Collaborative
An innovative community-academic partnership centered on mitigating the disproportionate impact of COVID-19 on Black and Latinx communities
