Emi Bolettieri, MD
- PGY-1
Emilienne ("Emi") is a PGY-1 child neurology resident with academic interests in neurogenetics and neuromuscular disease. She completed her undergraduate studies at Cornell University, where she explored the intersection of biomedical sciences and the humanities.
After graduating, Emi spent a year at the Clinic for Special Children, an organization dedicated to providing care for children and adults with genetic conditions that are more common in Amish and Mennonite communities. There, she worked closely with patients and families affected by ultra-rare diseases, including TNNT1-related nemaline myopathy and STRADA deficiency. These experiences inspired her pursuit of a career in child neurology.
Emi earned her MD from Penn State College of Medicine, where she continued to develop a passion for caring for children with complex neurological conditions. She also explored the role of the humanities, particularly creative writing, in supporting children across the developmental spectrum. She is interested in improving health literacy for patients and families and in examining how narrative medicine and communication can enhance patient care.
Emi maintains a strong interest in ultra-rare disease, genetic medicine, and advocacy for Plain communities and their unique healthcare needs. She looks forward to caring for and learning from the children and families served by CHP.
Hometown: Lititz, PA
Hobbies: In her free time, Emi enjoys crocheting, powerlifting, reading, and baking. On a free day, she can often be found enjoying one of the many nearby Pennsylvania state parks with her fiancé, Caleb.
