Sydney Rooney, MD is a pediatric resident in her third year of training at UPMC’s Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh and serves as the Chief Resident to the Pediatric Scientist Development Program. Rooney received her Bachelor of Science degree from Johns Hopkins University and her Doctor of Medicine degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. During her training, Sydney was awarded the Burroughs Wellcome Fund Physician Scientist Incubator and R38 StARR awards, which allowed her to take two research years between her PGY-2 and PGY-3 years. She plans to pursue cardiology fellowship.
