Pitt Pediatrics congratulates Catherine Corey, MD and Michelle Roe, MD for their acceptance into the University of Pittsburgh Physician Scientist Incubator as BWF Scholars.
The Physician Scientist Incubator program is “to train the highest quality biomedical physician investigators, focusing on those with MD degrees without PhD doctoral training who seek careers that involve pre-clinical research”.
Support for this program comes from the Burroughs Wellcome Foundation (BWF) as well as UPMC and the University and is built to give comprehensive training to residents and fellows so they may become successful physician-scientists.
Both Corey and Roe will receive individual sessions with career coaches, support for non-academic time management, monetary grants for tuition and weekly professional and scientific classes as BWF Scholars for one year. Their start date is July 1st.
Join us in congratulating Corey and Roe and we look forward to their development as physician-scientists. Follow us on Bluesky and Instagram for more updates from the Department of Pediatrics!
