Tavarez Appointed To APPD Committee

Pitt Pediatrics congratulates Melissa Tavarez, MD, MS, for her appointment as the Association of Pediatric Program Directors (APPD) Fellowship Directors’ Executive Committee At-Large Member. 

Tavarez was elected by the Fellowship Directors to serve a three-year term in this important leadership position. She has been with the department and Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh for a decade now and will now represent both with her position on the committee. 

To ensure the health and well-being of all children, APPD serves pediatric programs by leading the advancement of medical education, the development of a diverse workforce, the cultivation of an inclusive clinical learning environment, and promotion of educational innovation and research.
