Elif Soysal, MD

Elif Soysal, MD, joined the Department of Pediatrics residency program as a trainee of the Pediatric Scientist Development track in 2019. Originally from Turkey, she completed medical school at Koc University School of Medicine in Istanbul Turkey. During medical school, she developed an interest in neuroscience and translational research. Following medical school, she joined the Safar Center for Resuscitation Research as a postdoctoral researcher, where she studied oxidative stress and cell death pathways in animal models of pediatric sepsis and asphyxial cardiac arrest. She continues her training on pediatrics with an emphasis on pediatric emergency medicine. Her current research involves studying the dysregulated cerebral microcirculation in animal models of cardiac arrest.
