Optimizing Technology Interventions for Help-Seeking for Depression and Suicidality in Sexual and Gender Minority Youth
The SGMY Mental Health Help-Seeking Usability study will recruit SGMY online using social media advertising. Interviews will be conducted via Zoom to understand how SGMY use online mental health interventions currently. We will work to develop prototypes of mini-interventions to then seek SGMY feedback on in iterative usability studies. Funding is from NIMHD, R21MD015806.
SOVA (Supporting Our Valued Adolescents) Peer Ambassador Program Pilot Study, Enhancing Resiliency in Low-Resource Youth
The SOVA websites are over 6 years-old and developed at the SOVA Lab to promote an anonymous online community where young people can write about and discuss their beliefs about mental health. The objective of the SOVA Implementation Mapping study is to determine the best way to implement a mental health website into an already existing work readiness program for low-income youth who are mostly youth of color. Funding is from NIMHD, R21MD016143.
MoodRing: A multi-stakeholder platform to monitor and manage adolescents' depression in primary care with passive mobile sensing
With collaborators at the University of Virginia and small business partner NuRelm we are developing a mobile application system, MoodRing, with an adolescent app, a parent app, and an accompanying clinician dashboard. The aim of MoodRing is to improve the quality of depression management by supporting adolescents, parents, and clinicians with more timely feedback about their mood, gathered from passive sensing smartphone data and predictive machine learning algorithms. Currently we are recruiting adolescents and parents for an ongoing clinical trial. Funding is from NIMH, R44MH122067.
Enhancing Treatment & Utilization for Depression and Suicidality in Pediatric Primary Care Center
The ETUDES Center is an NIMH ALACRITY funded center that is developing and evaluating an integrated platform to support pediatric primary care with addressing growing numbers of depressed adolescents and suicidality. Dr. Radovic and the SOVA Lab work closely with the ETUDES Center in supporting the Screening Wizard intervention. Dr. Radovic also co-leads stakeholder engagement. Funding is from NIMH, P50MH115838.
