Carlos E. Meléndez Garcîa, MD
- Post-Doctoral Scholar
Dr. Melendez is a General Academic Pediatrics fellow at UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh. He completed his medical school and residency training in Puerto Rico and is fluid in Spanish and English. His areas of interest are medical education, general pediatrics, Hispanic/Latinx health, and sexual and gender minorities (SGM) health. His current work focuses on advancing healthcare access for the LGBTQ+ pediatric community by researching ways to increase pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) for HIV for SGM youth.
