New ICRE Leadership Roles For Culyba, Rankine

Pitt Pediatrics congratulates Alison Culyba, MD, PhD, MPH, and Jacquelin Rankine, MD, PhD, for their recent appointments in leadership roles at Pitt’s Institute for Clinical Research Education (ICRE). Culyba is an assistant professor of Pediatrics in our Department, and was also recently named the director of the Division of Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine (AYA). Rankine is an assistant professor of pediatrics in the AYA division, where she also received her fellowship training.

The ICRE is a multidisciplinary institute that provides training in clinical and translational science and medical education, and seeks to improve health outcomes, practice, and policy by creating and equitable, inclusive environment dedicated to educating the next generation of clinical and translational researchers and medical educators.

Within the ICRE, Culyba will take on the role of Director of the Career Education and Enhancement for Health Care Diversity (CEED) Program. As a former CEED scholar herself, and member of the Department of Pediatrics’ underrepresented minority recruitment and retention committee, Culyba is dedicated to transforming the landscape for learners to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion. Prior to this role, she served as the director of the CEED II program.

Rankine, meanwhile, will be taking on the role of Assistant Director of the PhD Program in Clinical and Translational Science. As an alumna of this program, Rankine has remained deeply committed to supporting the education and development of many students beginning degree programs in the ICRE. In this role, she will assist with all aspects of ICRE PhD programs, including student advising, PhD student milestone supervision, course evaluation, and program oversight.

Congratulations to Culyba and Rankine!
